CSR Policy Statements

Corporate social responsibility is vitally important to who we are. Our policies ensure that we rigorously adhere and defend ethical behavior, gender equality, environmental sustainability, data security and more.

Gender equality and inclusion

Following UN Sustainable Goal 5 SMA is fully committed with Gender equality which is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world reason why we run with at least 30% (focused on goal of 50%) of female leaders in all our teams, do not support events with only male panels and encourage all list nominations coming from our Firm (from translator to experts) follow the at least 30% of female rule. SMA partners and associates are all members of WISTA (Women International Shipping & Trading Association).

SMA headquarter is also equipped with a Kid´s area to receive the team´s kids and a Special Needs Toilet with a diaper changing station.

Code of business conduct and ethics

SMA is strongly committed to conducting our business affairs with honesty and integrity and in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations. No member of our team shall commit an illegal or unethical act, or instruct others to do so, for any reason.

Environmental policy

SMA recognizes that the long-term health of our business is directly connected to the health of the planet and local communities. We remain focused on sourcing environmental solutions that will clean our oceans and lessen our footprint. We are running single use plastic free in environmental friendly buildings equipped to reuse water, collect if from rain with recycling waste collector. SMA also supports several coastal clean up initiatives.

Combating Poverty

SMA is committed to UN Sustainable Goal 1 – End poverty in all its forms everywhere – running an annual program named SMA gives back which supports and promotes several local initiatives specially with children.

Data Security and Privacy

Protecting the privacy of our clients is critical to SMA. We take precautions to safeguard sensitive information, to include clients data, in order to ensure a safe and secure online environment.
